Rolling Stones’ Film “Rock And Roll Circus” To Be Released On DVD
ABKCO Records is preparing the Rolling Stones' film "Rock and Roll Circus" for DVD release. It's tentatively scheduled for 4th Quarter 2004. The December 1968 concert was filmed for a television special, although it was never broadcast, because the Stones were not happy with their performance. In 1996, ABKCO released a CD, videocassette and laserdisc of the event, which also featured performances by the Who, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull and the Dirty Mac, a supergroup comprising John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell.
Bruce Hornsby’s “Halcyon Days” with Guests Sting, Eric Clapton and Elton John
Bruce Hornsby's new CD is entitled "Halcyon Days". His first Columbia Records release, it will be in retail stores Tuesday, 17 August 2004. The first single, "Gonna Be Some Changes Made" will begin regular radio airplay on 29 June. Sting sings a duet with Bruce on the lead track and first radio single, "Gonna Be Some Changes Made" and Elton John does the honors on "Dreamland". Eric Clapton plays on three tracks and contributes vocals on "Candy Mountain Run". The Hornsby band is represented in full force - J.V. Collier, Sonny Emory, Bobby Read, Doug Derryberry, and John "JT" Thomas.
Cream’s “Disraeli Gears” To Receive “Deluxe” Treatment; Expanded To 2 CDs
[Press Release / Polydor - Universal Music] Cream's seminal Disraeli Gears album from 1967 will receive the Deluxe Edition treatment on September 13th, adding a variety of bonus and live tracks. It had been scheduled for release a year ago, but put back while a search for unreleased live material for possible use on the set was made. Sadly, nothing came of it.

Five years ago, on 24 June 1999, Christie's New York auctioned off a selection of Eric Clapton's guitars which raised over $5 million for the Crossroads Centre in Antigua. This evening - 24 June 2004, Christie's presented the sequel by selling the cream of Eric Clapton's collection along with instruments donated by his musician friends.

Clapton On New Bruce Hornsby Album
Bruce Hornsby recently signed a multi-album deal with Columbia Records, home to musical giants Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and as of April, Prince. The singer, songwriter and piano player is pleased with his new business deal. "This is just about the best place I could be right now," Hornsby said this week. "Basically, they really liked the record I made. That's what it boiled down to in 1985 and that's what it boiled down to this time."

Eric Clapton and His Band wrapped up their 6-night stand at London's Royal Albert Hall on 11 May 2004. Like all previous evenings on the tour, Robert Randolph and the Family Band wramed up the crowd. Surprisingly, there was only one encore song on the last night - "Sunshine of Your Love." "I Got My Mojo Workin'" was dropped.
