Clapton Donates Song To “For The Lady” Benefit CD

"For the Lady," a benefit album for imprisoned Burmese peace activist Aung San Suu Kyi is due out 26 October on Rhino Records. Eric Clapton has donated his well-known song, "Wonderful Tonight," to the cause. Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest by the Burmese government for 14 years. She won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1991. Mun Awng, another political prisoner, wrote the closing track, "Tempest of Blood." The double-disc set also features songs from U2, Paul McCartney, Sting, Coldplay, Avril Lavigne, Ani DiFranco, Bright Eyes, Peter Gabriel, Travis, Guster and Matchbox Twenty.

Limited Edition 000-ECHF C.F. Martin Guitar To Be Available

C.F. Martin & Company will issue a limited edition acoustic guitar co-designed by Eric Clapton and Hiroshi Fujiwara, a renowned Japanese DJ, composer and fashion designer. It is the fifth in a suite of Eric Clapton / C.F. Martin models. It has been designated 000-ECHF and will be available in January 2005. C.F. Martin & Company initially built eight of these unique custom guitars. One can be seen on the cover of Eric's newest CD, "Me & Mr. Johnson." This model served as Eric's main stage acoustic during his 2003 Japan Tour and his European and US 2004 Tours.

Eric Clapton Inducted Into Hollywood’s RockWalk

On 9 August 2004, Eric Clapton was inducted into Hollywood's "RockWalk Museum" located within the Guitar Center in a private ceremony. The award was in recognition of his astonishing career, his achievements as a guitarist and entertainer, and his ongoing contribution to music. Clapton received a commemorative plaque and had his hands and signature imprinted in terrazzo marble.
