Eric Clapton & His Band were slated to perform on the second night of the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concerts along with Aretha Franklin, Metallica, Ozzy Osborne, U2 and others. On 23 October 2009, it was announced that Eric cancelled his appearance as he needed a minor medical procedure for gall stones. A few days before the two-night event at Madison Square Garden (October 27th), the Rock Hall announced that Jeff Beck with special guests would perform in Eric’s stead.
