Eric Clapton Nominated For Two Grammy Awards
The Recording Academy (US) announced its nominations for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards on 7 December 2004. Eric earned two nominations. His most recent CD, "Me and Mr. Johnson" was nominated for "Best Traditional Blues Album". He was also nominated with Paul McCartney for "Something" for the "Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals" award.
Eric Clapton Made CBE At Buckingham Palace
On Wednesday, 3 November 2004 in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, Eric Clapton was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE. The honour was conferred by the Princess Royal (Princess Anne). He described it as "the icing on the cake" of his career. The award was announced in the 2004 New Year’s Honours List by Queen Elizabeth II on 31 December 2003. In 1994 the Queen granted him an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for “contribution to British Life.â€

On 9 August 2004, Eric Clapton was inducted into Hollywood's "RockWalk Museum" located within the Guitar Center in a private ceremony. The award was in recognition of his astonishing career, his achievements as a guitarist and entertainer, and his ongoing contribution to music.
