Eric and Steve changed the set list up a bit, dropping "Forever Man," "Pearly Queen," and Don Nix’s "Going Down." One sharp-eyed fan told Where’s Eric! that at least one of the set list changes happened right before the duo took the stage and was accomplished the "old fashioned" way … pen on paper. In were "While You See A Chance" from Steve’s 1980 album Arc of a Diver, "Going Down Slow," and a rip-roaring tune fans are calling "Slide Song (A)" (song number 12).

About ten past eight EC, SW and band casually strolled on stage. During the first song the sound wasn’t all that great, but by the time they went into ‘Low Down’, the mix was just about perfect. I was very pleased to hear some songs throughout the set I had never heard live: ‘Shape I’m’, ‘Tuff Luck’, ‘While you see a Chance’, ‘Midland Maniac’ and the ‘Slide Song’. A real treat to see Eric play some slide again (sounded great by the way!). High points for me were ‘Tuff Luck’ (a great alternative to other slow blues songs in EC’s repertoire and delivered with intensity and precision – EC is still the King of [slow] blues!), the ‘Slide Song’, Drifting Blues (which had a superb atmosphere with the gentle full band backing in addition to magnificent acoustic playing by Eric), Voodoo Chile (great to hear the slow but incredibly intense blues version) and Dear Mr. Fantasy (great guitar work by both men). On many occasions EC and SW exchanged smiles and grins, which was really nice to see.
For the guitarists: SW played a sunburst strat and think he played the surf green (?) Strat on Dear Mr. Fantasy. EC played the Daphne Blue Strat(s) on most songs, only changing to a black / dark grey (?) one for the slide song and also – if memory serves me right – again to black/dark grey for Voodoo Chile. As far as I could see he played through the Fender ’57 Twin Amp. I couldn’t see which pedals he used – if any – but I think he used some sort of chorus / leslie effect on one of Steve’s songs.
Great performance, great musicianship and just yet again (my fourth EC concert) an exhilarating experience I wouldn’t have wanted to miss out on! Long live EC!

Sunday the 23th of may 2010, a night to remember! Because EC was back in Antwerp, this time not alone but with his mate Steve Winwood.
What a great concert they gave, it was amazing, brilliant, magnificent! I’ve seen EC many times here in Antwerp and he’s still top, for me the best guitarist in the World. The way he plays the blues is unbelievable.
Highlights for me were the acoustic set (Drifting Blues, How Long, Layla and Can’t Find My Way Home), Voodoo Chile (amazing solos from EC) and Dear Mr. Fantasy.
I’ve never seen Steve Winwood before, but I was pleased to see him now. Lovely special voice he has, and he’s a great musician too the way he plays hammond organ, piano and guitar.
At the age of 65, EC is still top. He’s getting better with the years. Thanks EC and SW for this wonderful gig, it was “wonderful tonight”. Hope to see EC soon back in Antwerp!
