Where’s Eric! is now streaming "Layla: Forty Years On". Hear the entire hour-long radio broadcast, hosted by New York Radio Personality, Jonathan Clarke. It has interviews with Eric Clapton, Bobby Whitlock and more along with tracks from the newly remastered Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs 40th Anniversary Editions.
In 1970, Eric Clapton, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle and Jim Gordon formed Derek And The Dominos. The musicians met when the latter three were in Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, and their band opened for Blind Faith on their 1969 tour of America. In the fall of 1970, along with Duane Allman, they recorded the landmark album, Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs, at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida. Universal Music Entertainment has released several different editions to mark the album’s 40th Anniversary. To further commemorate this extraordinary event, Jonathan Clarke hosts an hour long U.S. radio broadcast examining the band’s history and their music. Produced by Ben Manilla and Erik Beith for Media Mechanics, the special features interviews with Eric Clapton, Bobby Whitlock, Eddie Van Halen, Tom Dowd, and Duane Allman biographer Randy Poe along with tracks from the newly remastered 40th Anniversary Editions.
And coming up this weekend – 2 and 3 April – is the House Of Blues Radio Hour on stations across the United States.
