Record stores in the U.S., U.K. and other territories will celebrate the annual "Record Store Day" on Saturday, 16 April. These special days are always exciting for music fans and generate long lines. All of the vinyl albums and singles produced for Record Store Day are pressed in limited quantities and sell out fast. This year, Eric Clapton fans have plenty of reason to get up early on a weekend and get to their local shops. Already announced is a 2LP vinyl edition of Eric Clapton: Unplugged (Warner Brothers / Reprise). Just added to the shopping list is a "Double A" side single from Derek And The Dominos featuring "Got To Get Better In A Little While" and "Layla" (UMe / Polydor). The version of "Got To Get Better" is previously unreleased and has newly finished vocals by Bobby Whitlock according to information sent to record stores.
It is limited to 2500 copies in the United States. Total edition number for the UK is not known. This special release will not only celebrate Record Store Day 2011 but the 40th Anniversary Editions of Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs, which were released today in some territories.
Don’t forget … Where’s Eric! will be celebrating Derek And The Dominos and the Layla album now through April, so check back for more exclusive articles, like The Where’s Eric! Interview with Bill Levenson, who compiled the 40th Anniversary Editions.
