Located on the campus of The Ohio State University, the arena opened in 1998. It’s full name is Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. The overall facility is named the Jerome Schottenstein Center in honor of Jerome Schottenstein the main benefactor and founder of Schottenstein Stores Corp. and Value City Furniture.
Due to it’s lengthy official name, it’s often referred to by a variety of shorter names including The Jerome Schottenstein Center, The Schottenstein Center, Value City Arena and “The Schott.”
