Concert Announcement 24 December 2022:

See in 2023 with Eric Clapton and The Promises at a New Year’s Eve Show in memory of Eric’s friend and legendary musician, Gary Brooker. Gary joined Eric on stage at many of the guitarist’s previous New Year’s Eve shows. This very special RECOVERY Celebration happens in Woking, Surrey.

Eric will also be joined by top DJ Gaz Mayall and opening act, Tumbling Dice.

Eric Clapton and The Promises New Year’s Eve Show is a Sober and Substance Free event. Soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. No alcohol or drugs permitted. No under 16’s. No iPads or recording.

Doors open 19:00 on 31 December 2022. The event will end at 01:00 on Sunday, 1 January 2023.

The New Year’s Eve Dances were private sober and substance free events for people in recovery and their family and friends hosted by Eric Clapton and friends between 1992 and 2012. There was no dance in 1998. Tickets were not available to the general public. Each year, Eric and the other musicians billed themselves under a creative band name.

After a ten year gap, in 2022, Eric and his friends hosted a New Year’s Eve show in the spirit of recovery that was open to the public.  Also taking place at the Woking Leisure Centre, It was held in memory of Gary Brooker (Procul Harum), who joined Eric on stage at many of the New Year’s Eve dances.
