Daylong music event exclusively for residents and business owners of Greenwich, CT (proof of residency / business ownership required for ticket purchase / access). This was the 8th annual day-long party in the park with music performed by well-known and emerging artists, locally sourced food, fun, family, and friendship to celebrate and experience the strength of the community on Memorial Day Weekend. The event was sold out.

Note that Greenwich Time, a local newspaper, reported that organizers “will verify the home or business address with a town of Greenwich ZIP code, no exceptions. Within two weeks of purchase, GTP will confirm residency or employment, and tickets will be sent via email to the purchaser. If the purchaser’s billing ZIP code is not within the town of Greenwich, purchaser will be asked to verify residency or employment with a driver’s license, lease, utility bill, or pay stub. The sale will be voided if proof of a local address cannot be verified.”

Eric took the stage at 8:10pm and kicked things off with “Somebody’s Knockin'” from his most recent studio album, I Still Do. As the sun set on the hot humid day, he treated the crowd to the blues classics, “Key To The Highway” and “Hoochie Coochie Man” followed up by his only U.S. number one, “I Shot The Sheriff.” The set list followed the format of last year’s US concerts and the January gig in Paris.

Eric saved the fireworks for the second half of the show, with extended versions of “Got To Get Better In A Little While” and “The Core,” which made it’s first US set list appearance since 1978.  The significance of “The Core’s” appearance in the set list after an absence of forty years was largely lost on the suburban audience.

The main part of the gig wrapped up with “Little Queen of Spades” and “Cocaine.” For the encore, Eric invited Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi to join in on “Crossroads.” Susan shared vocals with Eric, while all four guitarists took extended solos to close out the night.
