My wife and I caught the March 20 th show at MSG.Eric and his band mates were spot on. Could not ask for a better night. Jimmie Vaughan was good; Gary Clark Jr. and his band were excellent. But Eric nailed it. Every song hit the mark. Great show; Great night.

Absolute perfection as expected! I’ve had the privilege to see the man over 20 times and it just gets better every time. Highlights were “Somebody’s Knocking ” “Sheriff ” jam and “Little Queen of Spades”. EC’s fretwork is unmatched. Loved the fact he was the only guitarist and did all the “heavy lifting”. The man ROCKS period. Also great to see Chris Stainton still together with EC touring band (and should be forever). Love it. Hoping to go back in September.

My wife and I attended the Eric Clapton concert at Madison Square Garden, 21 March 2017. The band performed wonderfully, with some new arrangements. The sound was superb. Clapton was his usual self, an excellent bandleader, guitarist and singer.

But the major story of the night was the new light show. We simply could not enjoy the show, nor could many, perhaps thousands who sat near us. We sat in Section 227 and paid over $200 for each of our seats, and we were stiffed badly. The lights blinded us whenever we looked at the stage or near it. It was like watching a strobe light all night. Taking pictures resulted in pictures of … flash

There were two large screens on either side of the stage, but watching them was the same: too many strobe-like lights going off nearly ALL the time. Several of us started yelling, “Turn off the strobe,” but it did no good. My wife complained to “management,” but they told us to write to Ticketmaster. When we attended Clapton’s 2015 show at Madison Square Garden, the Garden turned their large TV monitors on, but not this time. What a rip-off.

So, Clapton gets an A for his efforts, but an F for his new light show. Madison Square Garden gets a “F,” for their useless response. I want my $460 back, because we were blinded by the lights: literally.
