Fan Reviews:

Review by Carlos Felipetto de Oliveira / Porto Alegre, Brazil

The simplicity of Mr. Clapton impresses even those who already know a little and admire the personality of this fine musician. But for those who live in Porto Alegre and are fans of his, it is warm to know that he can walk around our streets. Our city, which already has the name "Alegre" (happy), will certainly be happier with the passage of it here.

I was impressed at the fact that he started the show with the same jacket that was seen at the airport and his nightly walk, to me it shows his human dimension of simplicity and grandeur.

However, after the third or fourth song, the cold of southern Brazil was stronger and our esteemed idol had to change his jacket for a warmer coat. And near the end of the show the button of the collar was closed. Likewise, happened to the rest of the band. Tim Carmon put the hood to cover his head and against the wind. When the show moved to the acoustic stage, Chris staiton, until then faced the cold with a T-shirt, had time to put a leather jacket. The mighty Steve Gadd continued in his T-shirt, but a dark cloth wrapped the neck (or was it a towel?). Girls Michelle John and Sharon White, as well as Willie Weeks had been prepared for a cold spring night from the start. This was, for me, a remarkable fact of the show, besides the musical interaction which was magnificent, human interaction, of people braved the cold and wind to live moments of pleasure.

The grin of one who caught a fish, because he knows how to do it at the end of Cocaine shows how much this man has learned from life.

The band performed as virtuosos. The battery arrangement for Layla Steve Gadd is one of the most beautiful ever seen in this song.

Unfortunately, the reporter who interviewed Eric yesterday confirmed the unpreparedness that certainly makes a star is averse to the press. With indiscreet questions, she lost the opportunity of the Brazilian fans know that the current phase is directed to jazz, recording with the amazing Wynton Marsalis. The participation of young musicians on the last album Clapton, among other things important to us, as the assembly of a world tour with a show for different audiences.

Finally, even after seven hours standing in the wind and cold, watching Mr. Eric Clapton and his partners is a great experience … it really was Wonderful Tonight. A flawless presentation that was beyond expectations.

Thank you for coming back Mr. Eric Clapton.

Where’s Eric!
