Review by Jon F. / Muscat, Oman
This was the 10th EC show I’ve been to, my first one was at the RAH in 1988. I’ve not seen EC live since the MEN Arena in Manchester in 2004. (The show where Peter Kay was there when the lights came up and everyone cracked up, it was so funny!) So, I would say I’ve seen my fair share of EC over the years, I have to say though, I thought he played brilliantly on the 11th February. If that was the first show of the Tour, I only wish I could be there for the last show at the Albert. EC was looking very fit, the guitar playing and the vocals were sublime, the blues section was just awesome.
The songs were all brilliant, if I had to pick some, for me it would have to be ‘Badge’ and it was great to hear ‘Crossroads’ again. I don’t think I’ve seen EC do that one live since the very first show I saw all those years ago. But if I had to pick just one to hear again, it would be ‘Going Down Slow’. Eric was clearly enjoying playing as much as the audience were enjoying the performance. Thanks EC and thanks also to your brilliant band. Here’s to the next time!
