There is no word except “perfect” to tell the concert. It was a dream to see Clapton and Winwood in Istanbul and last night (13 June) the dream come true.

The setlist was the same as last concerts and satisfied us. While they doing "Crossroads" the venue moaned. And the top of the enthusiasm became in "Layla". Everybody do "Layla" with Clapton and Winwood. They performed “Can’t Find My Way Home” acoustic and it surprised me, this was the first time I’ve ever listened that song acoustic version and it was definetly perfect. Next they did "Gimme some lovin’", most of the audience doesn’t know that song but they loved it. And when they performed "Cocaine” the venue screamed "cocaine" at the same time : ) I was only disappointed because "Tell the Truth" and "Forever Man" were not performed.

After concert, I definitely decided that Chris Stainton is a genius, really genius! And the lovely Steve Gadd, he really enjoy what they do, seeing him is so cheerful. And placid Willie Weeks, he was a secret hero, I think.

The last day was one of the perfect moment in our life, thank you so much for coming and becoming dreams come true, thank you Eric! Thank you all band.

You know what, I’m giving up playing the guitar. There is no point to try, or even to struggle if you cannot play like Eric, Maybe I could have a chance and success in playing a "triangle" or something…

Simply amazing … pure magnificence. It would be a great chance to see him again. Long live Eric! God was in Istanbul!

As a last show of this tour, the Istanbul concert was a bombastic end to a great tour. Having had the privilege of already seeing Birmingham, both London nights, Basel and Munich, I was hoping for another stellar concert. And sure enough with an engaging audience, great location and a band in top form, it was spectacular. The real fireworks going on at the other side of the Bosphorus during Midland Maniac added an unintended surprise to the marvelous show. The band turned up the volume for Crossroads to drown out the bangs of the fireworks. Eric, Steve and the band and background singers pulled all stops and played with an abundance of energy.

I can’t even begin to name highlights as every song was fantastic. If I had to chose it’d probably be Glad / Well Alright (Eric letting lose in Glad), Tuff Luck with Chris on piano, Steve’s B3 and Eric’s guitar playing to the max, Midland Maniac and the power combo Gimme Some Lovin’ / the mind blowing Voodoo Chile and ferocious Cocaine.

The slow clap during Driftin’, the audience singing along to the Layla lyrics and the loud ‘Cocaine’ shout added punch. During the beautiful version of Can’t Find My Way Home the audience was treated to the perfect transitioning between Eric and Steve; no cut off between solos but simple giving over the lead, taking it, playing with it and handing it back. So effortless, it looks easy and shows the great craftsmanship of two musicians. With a wonderful and energetic Dear Mr Fantasy, the show ended on a great high.
