This was my 4th EC concert since 2000 and the first in my hometown of Tulsa. I went with a friend who had never seen Eric in concert. Afterwards he said "hands down, the best concert that I’ve ever seen. The band was amazing, creative and never missed one note. And Eric’s playing was unbelievable." The great thing about hearing songs more than once is that Eric never plays them the same way twice. He always adds a new idea or twist that makes the solo almost a new song. I felt that way hearing one of my favorites "Old Love". His acoustic interpretation of "Rock and Roll Heart" had the building rocking and hand clapping the beat to the song.

This isn’t just blues music or rock and roll or pop, its Eric Clapton music. The band’s terrific range supported non-blues songs from "I Shot the Sheriff" to "Badge" and "Wonderful Tonight" to old blues standards like "Key to the Highway", "No One Knows When You Are Down And Out" to the signature encore "Crossroads" with never a stretch or a strain. Very tight and very precise.

Amazing solo work by both Chris Staiton and hometown Tulsa product Walt Richmond, who both handled the B-3 organ and keyboards, were featured in terrific support on several songs, including "Little Queen of Spades" and "Cocaine". The show was a little shorter than what we are used to when no opening act is included, but overall I felt once again I was in the presence of greatness and will savor the memories of this very satisfying concert.

Wow! Maybe the best concert ever in our new BOK center. EC gave a full hour and half of fantastic guitar artistry while doing all our favorite EC tunes!! The encore was superb with "crossroads". The best ending to an EC concert would be the plugged version of "LAYLA". It would rock the house, any house! That was the only thing missing. Thx EC for giving it your all.

Overall a very enjoyable evening. We really enjoyed Mr. Daltry, he was at ease and a wonderful showman. Young Man Blues was outstanding. EC and band were spot on, consumate professionals. EC was efficient, yet restrained. Not too many songs where he just opened it up. Old Love, Badge, I Shot the Sheriff were all terrific. This Sheriff version featuring a little shuffle, a little reggae. The solo on Cocaine was really strong as well. Eric looked like he just stepped off the stage from the Unplugged Sessions 1992 and much of the show was from this era. We would have loved for him to give a little tribute since he has a Tulsan in band and he owes alot to the Tulsa Sound by playing Tulsa Time (perhaps too cliche). We all got our monies worth.

Wow…from Roger to Eric…they blew the house down! The only downside…I wanted to hear Tulsa Time.

This was my second EC show, the first having been at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City a few years ago, when he toured with Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II. Robert Cray guest-starred. This, of course, cast more of a bluesy shadow over the evening and they all completely blew me away.

The Tulsa show was a spectacle in itself. The band was in top form and EC was as electrifying as ever. It didn’t seem like an hour and a half and the show was over all too quickly. My only disappointment was not getting to witness a ‘blues summit’ like the OKC show, and most importantly, EC didn’t play ‘Tulsa Time’. I thought for sure he would do it just for us.

Still, I have no regrets about seeing this show, and I will continue to see EC and the band whenever they come. This is one of those shows that fans of every music genre should see at least once in their lives because EC’s background covers such an amazing era of music history. He just gets better as time goes by.

This was my first big arena concert and my first Eric Clapton concert. The show was amazing Roger Daltrey was brilliant in itself never misses a beat through the whole set. I’m ecstatic that I got to see Eric Clapton Live in my home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I can’t picture music without Eric Clapton he encompasses the meaning of good music from the heart. I’m 21 right now, but I hope when I get to be Eric Clapton’s age I’m still doing what I love as well. Thank You for the tunes and the memories EC! After that show I could easily go the rest of my life without seeing another one ever again. Unless it is Eric Clapton! Play On.

It has been 5 days since the Eric Clapton concert and I am still talking about it. Simple fantastic. I was on the 2nd row and it was as if Eric was in my living room. Simple the best show of all time. It made me want to throw my Fender strat in the Arkansas River—he is so good. I never thought Clapton would be in Tulsa. Man what a show!!! At 56 years of age it takes a lot to get excited but growing up listening to Doors, Stones, Steppenwolf, etc and of course Clapton this has to be the highlight. He has gotten better over time and he is now at his best—no doubt. How does he do it? WOW.
