Review by Clayton / London, England
This was my 6th Clapton show and boy am I happy I decided to come (almost stayed in because I’ve seen this show 4 times). Me and some friends have been to the shows in Italy and one at the RAH. The band is getting better each time we see them. This will not be the last time of this tour we will see you EC.
The show started around 9:15 pm same set list as previous nights with Chris Stainton starting Pretending. Followed by EC, DT, and DB all have blistering solos in Pretending, So Tired and Got to get better. Then Robert Cray joined him for another incredible night of Old Love. I must say I TOTALLY don’t agree with any of the previous comments about Tim Carmon’s solo. I have seen this show with this set list 5 times and each time when it is his time to solo everyone looks to him to see what genius idea he will come up with for the night. Every show EC and the others are looking at him smiling and you can see EC looking as a proud father as Tim does things that I have never seen done and the crowd continually agrees with a resounding roar each show. (Not sure what the others are listening to) I did a search on him and everyone claimed him as their favorite. EC must think the same for him to have played on so many EC recordings and shows. Go Tim Carmon! DT and DB have definitely changed roles in the band and now EC is more of the focus as he gets only better with each show. Tonight and also in Perugia, it seem like he was floating on the stage after playing some heavenly solos.

Chris Stainton, Willie, and Steve also added their mastery to the songs. Chris also is one of the best piano players I have ever seen. EC smiled a lot and even said a few phrases in German. Powerful and unforgettable this band is, 12 pieces playing together as one. I can only imagine what it will sound like as the tour goes on. Heaven help us all!!

Where’s Eric!
