Review by Tsuzuki Hiroyuki
Each player has taken solo part in not a few numbers. Three guitars, two keyboards and one bass solos were heard alternately. The drumer has taken the lead at the first part having linked two numbers. Eric seems to try to be one of the players of the band.
In these instrumentalists Derek has shown the most extraordinary performance. He looks to play using the thumb, index and middle fingers. This performing style makes it possible to create tune without a break. At this point Eric’s one note picking is at a little disadvantage. Nonetheless due to Derek’s magnificent performance, Eric seems to feel relaxed when he takes solo. I hope Derek’s performance stimulates his instinct as guitar player.
Today "Five long years "was played in slower tempo, having been similar to the studio take. Derek’ and Eric’s solo have become solid and fitted to this blues .Also another blues, "Before you accuse me " was performed more tightly . "Five Long Years" was slowed down in comparison with last night’s version which was played on shuffle beat and Eric had his hair cut short.
