Review by Ignacio Guerin

This was the first time i saw Eric Clapton and I must say it was an exellent experience, the show was gonna be on October 8 at 9:00 PM in the Velódromo Municipal de Montevideo but due to weather problems (lot of wind and rain) the show was changed to another venue, Cilindro Municipal at the same day but at 11:00 PM. The Cilindro is a basketball court and the acoustic is not so good because there is lot of echo. Therefore the volume was a little down to increase the sound quality.

The venue was full at 11:00 PM (10000 people aprox.)and the show started at 11:15 PM aprox; they played some blues songs and the hits Layla, Cocaine, Wonderful tonight, Change the World, Tears in heaven; etc, for me the best moment of the show was while Cocaine was played and the crowd sang a lot. All people was happy, clapping and singing a lot during the performance.

The show was brillant and Eric didn´t speak a lot but his music said all in the 2 hours the band played.

The encore was Sunshine of Your Love and Somewhere Over the Rainbow, during the last song Eric presented his band Andy Fairweather Low (second guitar), Steve Gadd (Drums), Nathan East (bass), Greg Philinganes and David Sancious (Keyboards).

For me this was one of the best rock concerts in my life. People went to home very, very happy.

Where’s Eric!
