Fan Reviews:

Review by Tony Edser – Editor, Where’s Eric!

Despite worries that he might be "playing for time" with the lengthy Reptile world tour drawing to a close,Eric was on fire at the Budokan tonight.

Although the set-list was largely familiar to this reporter, he displayed a raw edge to his playing and an almost aggressive impatience to solo, even playing lead over the top of keyboard solos from Sancious and Phillinganes.

Something had clearly sparked him off and he was ad-libbing with lead and jazzy rhythm work, throwing heavy metal shapes and grimaces and jumping around like a man half his age.

On this the tenth anniversary of his Japanese tour with George Harrison, he dedicated "Badge" to the former Beatle and did not disappoint, poignantly prolonging the gap betweeen verse and chorus for further silent refelction.

The previous night`s show had left me wondering why I had travelled 6,000 miles to see it. Now I know.

Where’s Eric!
