In the planning stage, the proposed name was Spectrum II, as the original Philadelphia Spectrum was part of the same South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Built on the site of the demolished John F. Kennedy Stadium (site of Live Aid), it opened as CoreStates Center in 1996. The venue has operated under these names:
