The band travelled in private rail carriages hired from the Orient Express for the European Leg of the Backless Tour. Filmmaker Rex Pike was given unprecidented access on-state and off to film a fly-on-the-wall style documentary. Over 120 rolls of film were shot across Europe and in England. Edited to roughly 2 hours, “Eric Clapton And His Rolling Hotel” was shown at a few film festivals, but never released.

Victoria Hall was constructed as an annex to Hanley Town Hall in 1888. Hanley was one of the six original towns that make up the City of Stoke-on-Trent and is now considered the primary commercial, shopping, cultural hub and “city centre.”
