EC, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker formally rehearsed 18-29 July at St. Anne’s Brondesbury Church Hall in West Kilburn, Northwest London after initial rehearsals at Ginger’s home in Neasden, Northwest London.

The night previous – 30 July – the band had their first public performance (and “unofficial” debut) with two sets at The Twisted Wheel in Manchester. This performance at the National Jazz & Blues Festival was their “official debut” and launched them onto the national stage. The banc played from 9pm to 9:40pm.
