Mark Leeman (b. John Ardrey), frontman of the Mark Leeman Five, was killed in a car accident in June on his way home from a gig in Blackpool. This evenings performance was a fundraiser for his widow. The band carried on using his name in tribute and his place was taken by Roger Peacock.
In addition to the Bluesbreakers, bands on the bill were Spencer Davis Group, Moody Blues, Chris Farlowe & The Thunderbirds, and the Mark Leeman Five.
