Eric Clapton recorded his first studio album in April 1966 with John Mayall’s Blues Breakers and has never looked back. Clapton’s most recent studio album is a collaborative effort honoring the late American songwriter and recording artist, JJ Cale. It was released in July 2014. His 20th solo album, Old Sock, was released the previous year.
Since 1966, Eric Clapton has released a total of 27 studio albums as either a solo act or as a member of a band. Only one is a live / studio combination (Wheels Of Fire). This total does not include soundtracks Eric composed, subsequent expanded reissues, live ‘in concert’ releases nor compilations and greatest hits packages assembled by record companies around the world.
