Spinetti, Henry

 Henry Anthony George Spinetti was born on 31 March 1951 in Cwm, South Wales. A drummer, he has toured and recorded with a wide variety of artists in a career into its 5th decade. Credits include Tina Turner, Neil Sedaka, Joan Armatrading, Gary Brooker, Roger Chapman, George Harrison, Pete Townshend, Gerry Rafferty and Paul McCartney. He also worked with Andy Fairweather-Low on Bill Wyman’s ’80s side-project, Willie & The Poor Boys.

Henry was part of Eric Clapton’s “all British” band between December 1979 and September 1982. They worked together again in December 1986 on the Lethal Weapon soundtrack. Henry has continued to play at small, private gigs with Eric , as well as one-off concert appearances like the Ferrari-Maserati Festival in August 2003. Eric often guests at charity gigs by No Stiletto Shoes, a band which features Henry on drums, Andy Fairweather Low on guitar, Dave Bronze on bass and Gary Brooker on vocals and keyboards.

He took part in “The Concert For George” (a tribute concert in George Harrison’s memory) on 29 November 2002 with Eric, who served as the evening’s musical director.
