Eric Clapton was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a solo artist on 6 March 2000 during a ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. That night, he became the Hall of Fame’s first and only “Triple Inductee”.
Eric Clapton was previously inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Cream in 1993 and in 1992, as a member of The Yardbirds.
Individual musicians or bands become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first album. Potentially, Eric can be inducted 4 more times based on his membership in John Mayall’s Blues Breakers, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, and Derek & The Dominos.
