Atist John Van Hamersveld has created a stunning limited edition poster to commemorate the three Winwood / Clapton concerts at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. The three thousand limited edition posters are hand-numbered and each bears an embossed seal which reads "Winwood / Clapton 2008".
Van Hamersveld is responsible for some of the enduring pop imagery of the 60s and 70s, including the day-glo poster for the 1966 film, "The Endless Summer". Van Hamersveld created album covers for the Rolling Stones, Kiss, Bob Dylan and The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour, also concert posters for Cream, Traffic, Jimi Hendrix Experience and Jefferson Airplane for their now-historic concerts at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. In 2005, Van Hamersveld designed the limited edition posters for Cream’s reunion concerts at the Royal Albert Hall and Madison Square Garden, both editions quickly sold out. The Winwood / Clapton commemorative poster can be considered as a companion piece to the Cream 2005 posters.
