Call it the Slowhand Show Search, the Clapton Gigography, the Eric Clapton Tourography, the EC Gig Finder, or even Eric’s "Just One Nights". The Where’s Eric! Team has rolled out a fully updated Eric Clapton Tour Section on whereseric.com covering the years 1990 to 2010. Almost a year in the making, this archival section currently has information on 1,058 events from the last twenty years. When known, the band lineup, set list, support act, special guests, notes about the show and information about official and bootleg releases are provided. All fan reviews submitted to Where’s Eric! since 2001 have been restored.
To expand this section, the Where’s Eric! Team relied on the magazine’s extensive archives, data stored in previous incarnations of whereseric.com, the personal collections of staff members and contributors, as well as books by Clapton biographer Marc Roberty (who also graciously allowed us to "pick his brain" during the research stages). There are plans to further expand the archival section. It will eventually include all concerts and live performances from the earliest days of Eric Clapton’s career in 1963. It will be rolled out year by year, starting with 1989 later this summer.
Clicking on the site’s Tour button brings you to the main page of the section. At top, is a list of Eric Clapton’s most recent gigs with links to set lists, band lineup details, fan reviews and other information. Clicking on the "page numbers", you can navigate all the way back to 1990. Or, click the large Eric Clapton Tour Archive link. Here, you can access our database of information via an interactive calendar which you can scroll through year by year. If you quickly need to access information, there’s a quick year jump feature built in. At the bottom of the main Tour Page is a comprehensive list of all future dates with official ticket onsale information.
Another new addition to whereseric.com is that a list of Eric’s next five concerts will now always be found on the right side of the homepage.
HELP WHERE’S ERIC! FILL IN THE BLANKS! Did you go to a show in 1995 and wrote down the set list? Does your ticket stub from 1992 have the name of the support act? Did you keep reviews from local newspapers in 2001? Did a friend give you a tape of a gig from 1990 so you know the full set list? If you have any information that can help expand the Tour Section of whereseric.com and fill in some of the inevitable blanks, please send the details to info@whereseric.com. It is also helpful to us if you let us know the type of source you relied on for the information … just like school teachers the world over, the Where’s Eric! Team prefers primary sources (newspaper account or magazine article, your personal notes, you have a recording of the show vs. my sister’s boyfriend at the time told me about it).
