New Album Coming From Sonny Emory

Sonny Emory, drummer, percussionist and singer / songwriter, has been part of Eric Clapton’s rhythm section since 2018. On November 17, he and his new group will release their self-titled debut, SONNY & THE7EVENTHTIME. In the group, he is joined by longtime friend, bassist Sam Sims, and Sonny’s sons Nic Gibran (Vocals/Keys) and Ni Emory (Master Engineer).

Sonny, in addition to drumming, takes center stage with lead vocals on 3 songs, is a co-writer of 6 tracks, and handles background vocals and keys throughout the disc.

Sonny first worked with Eric and David Sanborn on the soundtrack for the 1989 film, Lethal Weapon 2. He embarks on Eric’s 2023 North American Tour today, September 8, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sonny will also join the legendary guitarist for his Crossroads Guitar Festival in Los Angeles on September 23 and 24.
