More “Rock Legends” Footage To Be Released

On 26 September 2006, Capitol / EMI will release a remastered version of George Harrison’s 1973 album, “Living In The Material World” on CD and also as a deluxe CD / DVD package with 40-page booklet. The album, and it’s first single “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” both reached #1 on the US charts.

The remastered Harrison album will feature two additional tracks, the 1971 B-side “Deep Blue” and “Miss O’Dell,” the B-side for “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth).” The DVD also includes behind-the-scenes film clips shot during the 1973 sessions for “Living in the Material World” and previously unreleased versions of “Miss O’Dell” and “Sue Me, Sue You Blues” set to archival film clips.

The DVD in the deluxe version of “Living In The Material World” is of great interest to Clapton fans as it includes a filmed performance of “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” from the joint Harrison / Clapton 1991 Japan Tour. Billed as “Rock Legends” Harrison and Clapton played twelve shows in six cities.

Four filmed songs from the tour were released in February 2004 – “Taxman”, “Cloud 9”, “Devil’s Radio” and “Cheer Down” – as part of the deluxe Harrison box set, “The Dark Horse Years: 1976 – 1992.” (The DVD is now available singly under the same title). The 2004 box set also included a remastered version of “Live in Japan”, an audio recording from the concerts. The two CD live set was intially released in August 1992.
