Legendary Guitarists Eric Clapton and Robbie Robertson Team Up On Robertson’s New Album, “How To Become Clairvoyant”

Robbie Robertson, legendary guitarist, singer, songwriter and founding member of The Band, is set to release his fifth solo album, How To Become Clairvoyant. It’s out first in Robertson’s native Canada on 29 March, followed by the US on 5 April and the UK and EU on 12 April. Eric Clapton performs on 7 of the album’s 12 tracks. Clapton wrote "Madam X" especially for this project and co-wrote "Fear Of Falling" and "Won’t Be Back" with Roberton. Previously, the musicians collaborated on "It’s In The Way That You Use It" for the 1986 film, The Color Of Money and shared the stage at Clapton’s 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival as well as The Band’s Farewell Concert in 1976.
How To Become Clairvoyant is jam-packed with additional guest musicians including Steve Winwood, Tom Morello, Robert Randolph, Taylor Goldsmith and Trent Reznor. Renowned session drummer Jim Keltner took part in the recording sessions, as did Shar White and Michelle John, backing vocalists in Clapton’s touring band since 2004. Pino Palladino (bass) and Ian Thomas (drums), who toured with Clapton in 2008, make up the rhythm section on the bulk of the tracks. Robertson co-produced the album with Marius de Vries.
The Japanese edition of "How To Become Clairvoyant" will feature a bonus demo version of “Won’t Be Back” with Eric Clapton. 429 Records will also release it as a deluxe double disc package featuring demos of The Right Mistake (Demo Version); He Don’t Live Here No More (Demo Version); Fear Of Falling (Demo Version); This Is Where I Get Off (Demo Version); Madame X (Demo Version) and Houdini (Demo Version). These demos also feature Eric Clapton.
The disc’s title track will be included on the season two soundtrack for the popular HBO television series, True Blood. As a member of The Band, Robertson has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. He is also a member of the Candian Songwriters Hall Of Fame.
