Eric Clapton’s “The Lady In The Balcony: Lockdown Sessions” is heading to cinemas the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands next month. Don’t miss the chance to see this unique show on the big screen!
In February 2021 Eric Clapton’s live shows at The Royal Albert Hall were cancelled due to the global pandemic. Determined to play, he brought his band together in the English countryside at Cowdray House to film a stripped back and intimate performance with behind-the-scenes insights from Eric, the band and crew.
Eric surrounded himself with regular collaborators Nathan East, Steve Gadd and Chris Stainton and brought in Grammy Award winning producer Russ Titelman to oversee the sessions. The music explores influences such as Peter Green (“Black Magic Woman,” “Man of the World”) and Muddy Waters (“Long Distance Call”) along with Blues Classics (“Got Your Mojo Working,” “Going Down Slow”), his own hits such as “Layla” and “Tears in Heaven,” as well as intimate personal songs such as “Believe in Life.”
The restrictions that led to the cancellation of the original shows, along with all other live music, reverberate behind all the performances as Eric and all the band revel in the opportunity to perform together. As Eric says “All I am trying to do is keep the candle burning”.
The cinema event, with exlusive behind-the-scenes footage, will play from November 8th in Belgium and from November 9th in the UK and Netherlands.
