“Open World,” featuring Eric Clapton, is the brand new single from guitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Santiago. Stamped with EC’s signature licks, the song is imbued with postive hopeful energy. Check out the YouTube video for “Open World” below.
The single, released on March 12, will also be included on Santiago’s upcoming album, Song For Tomorrow, from Heartcore Records.
For the past twenty years, Santiago has been a key contributor to the Brazilian and world music scenes and has been nominated for four consecutive Lating Grammy awards. In addition ot collaborations with Milton Nacimento, Hamilton de Holanda, John Paul Jones, Joshua Redman and others, he has released three solo discs. His duo project, Simboise, with Brazilian guitarist Pedro Martins was a featured performance at Eric Clapton’s 2019 Crossroads Guitar Festival. That event was the catalyst for Songs For Tomorrow, which was produced by Kurt Rosenwinkel, another Crossroads Festival featured artist.
Talking about his new album and working with EC, Santiago recently said, ““For me having Eric involved with this project is like a dream. My father and I went to see him in Brasilia when I was nine years old, and he has been one of my heroes ever since. Thirty years later I was invited to play at Crossroads, and at this moment I felt my entire life pass me by in one second. To have Kurt Rosenwinkel producing the record is equally powerful, as he and Eric have been the major guitar inspirations in my life. I feel so fortunate and grateful to be creating alongside them on Song for Tomorrow.”
EC has said, “Listen to this, I guarantee it will change your mind, it gives me peace and hope, it makes me want to play.”
