Fans Say EC Awesome In Austin; Jimmie Vaughan Guests

Night 3 of the 2013 US Tour brought EC & Company to the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, where it was also the final date of the annual SXSW Festival. The two hour plus show saw Jimmie Vaughan joining EC on stage for “Black Cat Bone” and some adjustments to the set list.  Fan-favorite Layla was back (unplugged), Nobody Knows You, Good Night Irene and Lay Down Sally was added. Numerous fans wrote in to let us know that How Long was definitely part of the show in Austin. Zach P wrote, “A better show than in 07. The solo on I shot the sheriff was his best of the night, a close 2nd was Doyle’s “little queen” solo. Was surprised by the amount of steel guitar( which is a Texas favorite, as well as mine).” Leon D said, “I attended the Austin concert last night and It was great. The mix of the set, sound levels and the overall energy of the band made for a great experience. My wife had gotten me tickets for my Xmas present and it was well worth the wait. I just hope Eric plans more future tour dàtes in Austin. I’ll be there.”

The encore songs are Sunshine Of Your Love and a cover of the great Joe Cocker number, High Time We Went.  Ron K checked in, writing “Although Houston was an great concert, Austin was awesome. The whole band had a little more energy than the previous night. This might have been the greatest show I have seen by Eric.”
