Eric Clapton’s I Still Do Debuts At No. 1

Eric Clapton topped the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart with I Still Do, his 23rd solo studio album, with 44,000 copies sold. The album is his first U.S. No. 1 on Top Rock Albums since 2010’s Clapton.

I Still Do also debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, making it EC’s 16th top 10 title as a solo artist, dating to his first, History of Eric Clapton, which peaked at No. 6 in 1972.

Eric C is followed on Top Rock Albums by two other Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers. Bob Dylan’s Fallen Angels was No. 2 (42,000 sold). At No. 3 is 2 by Mudcrutch, fronted by Tom Petty (32,000 sold). Dylan and Petty also debuted at No. 39 on Top Rock Albums with their collaborative Live On Air: Radio Broadcast 1986.

In the U.K., I Still Do bowed at No. 5 in the Top 100 Album Sales Chart by the Official Charts Company.
