FULL PRODUCTION BEGINS THIS FALL! The Eric Clapton Anthology is moving into high gear and the producers are still casting a wide net in hopes of finding additional photos, film, videotape, audiotape, posters and related ephemera. The producers emphasize that material need not be “professional level” quality.
The advert for the documentary in EC’s 70th Birthday Concert Programme reads:
“The authorized career-spanning Eric Clapton Visual Anthology will finally begin its post-production edit this fall, accompanied with an announcement of projected release date! When completed, the long-form documentary film will represent the most comprehensive study of Eric’s 50+ year musical journey ever assembled.
We have conducted in the neighborhood of one hundred interviews that include Eric’s closest musical friends and contemporaries. While we have also gathered a substantial amount of archival material. We’re still actively looking for additional on and off-stage material from approximately 1963 – 1979.
We are asking you, Eric’s great lifelong fans, to check your attics, closets and personal collections for 8mm or 16mm home movies / cine film; videotape; audiotape; photographs; Polaroids; Eric as a group member (including the A.R.M.S. and Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking Tours) as well as a solo artist.
These could come from having documented something such as a chance encounter at an airport, a boutique or even your first ever concert and needn’t be “professional level” quality. Our focus is on the following periods:
– The Roosters / Casey Jones
– The Yardbirds
– John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers
– Cream
– Blind Faith
– Delaney & Bonnie & Friends with Eric
– Derek & The Dominos
– Solo Tours
If you have any material from the above eras – inclusive of special events such as The Concert For Bangladesh, The Rainbow Concert and the Plastic Ono Band appearances – please contact the producers directly by email at claptonanthology@gmail.com and provide as much detail as possible. YOU WILL BE CREDITED AND COMPENSATED if your material is used in the production!”
The Where’s Eric! Team will be speaking with the Anthology Producers in the next several weeks to get even more details about this long anticipated Eric Clapton documentary The exclusive interview will be published on whereseric.com.
