Eric Clapton Announces Tokyo Residency

Eric Clapton returns to Tokyo’s famous Budokan for a six night residency on April 15, 18, 19, 21, 22 and 24, 2023. No other Japanese cities or additional dates in Tokyo will be added to the itinerary.

Next year also marks Eric Clapton’s 60th year as a professional musician. He joined The Yardbirds in 1963 and the following years saw him join John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, and Derek and The Dominos along with five decade solo career that includes an abundance of albums, countless sold out shows, an impressive array of accolades, unwavering critical acclaim and his consistent display of legendary guitar work.

In Tokyo, Eric Clapton will be accompanied by a superb band of musicians, including longtime associates Nathan East (bass), Paul Carrack (keyboards), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Sonny Emory (drums), Sharon White and Katie Kissoon (backing vocalists).

A ticket on-sale date for the 2023 Tokyo residency has not yet been announced. Generally, there are a series of Udo Club presales for premium and regular members followed by a general public on-sale via Japan’s major ticket agencies and udo.jp. The Udo Artists website notes that ticketing systems cannot process credit cards issued outside of Japan nor sell to customers who reside outside of Japan. More information about the ticketing process can be found at https://udo.jp/english.

Eric Clapton’s 2023 Tokyo residency is sponsored by Kurosawa Music Stores, the official distributor of Martin Guitars in Japan.
