Eric Clapton and his band have been on the road since 5 May playing gigs in France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany. The tour included an extended run at the Royal Albert Hall in May. Back in the UK, EC wrapped up the first leg of his 2006 / 2007 World Tour with two nights at Hampton Court Palace on 9 and 10 June 2006. The gigs were part of this summer’s Hampton Court Palace Festival.
The tour featured an expanded band with some familiar faces and some new personnel. Bandmembers are Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Derek Trucks (guitar), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Tim Carmon (keyboards), Willie Weeks (bass), Steve Jordan (drums), The Kick Horns – Simon Clarke, Roddy Lorimer and Tim Sanders (brass), Michelle John (backing vocals), and Sharon White (backing vocals).
As with previous shows, the set lists featured songs from Eric’s most recent CD, Back Home, along with gems from the back catalog. They included Pretending, Got To Get Better In A Little While, Motherless Children, After Midnight, and Crossroads.
The tour picks up again on 7 July in Italy.
