Eric Clapton’s current U.S. Tour is underway and stopped at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee on 27 February. The 11 date tour winds through the southern states through 13 March. One fan told Where’s Eric! that, "Eric’s guitar playing was second to none in Nashville. He showed why he is a living legend … This was one of the best concerts I have been to in my life and I have seen many".
During the "unplugged" set, country music legend Vince Gill joined Eric on stage. They performed several songs together including "Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out," "Running On Faith," and "Layla." Another fan reported, "In typical Eric form, he encouraged Vince to take all of the rest of the solos while he played rhythm, and the audience cheered Vince on. Both men smiled at each other as they clearly enjoyed themselves." Vince, with a red sunburst Gibson Les Paul in tow, stepped out again with Eric and his band for the encore of "Crossroads." Vince will be one of the performers at Eric’s upcoming Crossroads Guitar Festival in June. He was part of the 2004 and 2007 Festivals as well.
The songs performed during the "plugged in" parts of the concert were identical to night one of the tour in Pittsburgh on 25 February.
Next up for Eric and his band is a concert at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday 28 February. For a complete list of upcoming concerts, visit the Tour Page.
