Congratulations to Eric Clapton And Friends, who have topped the charts around the world with “The Breeze (An Appreciation of JJ Cale)”. In the UK, it went straight to #1 on the Official Record Store Chart as the biggest selling album in the country’s independent record shops. Over on the Official Album Charts, it debuted at #3. Across the pond in the US, “The Breeze” debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and is Clapton’s highest-charting album since “From The Cradle” debuted #1 in 1994. It was kept out of the top slot by Tom Petty’s “Hypnotic Eye,” which had a sales boost through an album/concert ticket bundle offer. Petty is also one of the featured artists on “The Breeze”.
Elsewhere around the globe, The Breeze is #1 in The Netherlands and Denmark, #2 in Germany and Canada and #4 in Belgium.
