“Bobby Whitlock: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Autobiography” Due This Winter

Musician Bobby Whitlock has completed work on his highly-anticipated autobiography. It has a heartfelt foreword by Eric Clapton. To be published before Christmas, it will tell the story of Bobby’s traumatic childhood and how his love of music allowed him to escape his abusive father. He’ll take readers on a musical journey through his days at Stax Records while still a teenager, his time with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and Derek & The Dominos, his session work and solo career. From an insider’s perspective, he’ll share extraordinary details about the recording of legendary albums Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, All Things Must Pass, and Exile On Main Street. A natural-born storyteller, expect the book to have plenty of anecdotes about Eric Clapton, the rest of the Dominos, George Harrison, The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers, Leon Russell, Keith Moon, Elton John and more. Bobby wrote his book with the assistance of music historian Marc Roberty, who has previously authored several books on Clapton. Publication details for Bobby Whitlock: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Autobiography to follow.
