Clapton Joins Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings On Stage At One Generation 4 Another Benefit Concert

Eric Clapton took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall last night – March 15, 2004 – as part of the One Generation 4 Another concert in aid of the Lord’s Taverner’s charity. The house band was Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings and Eric joined them for three songs. Despite the short set, it was a notable evening for Clapton fans – featuring new song, new guitar, blistering solos and high energy vocal performances.

Eric opened his set with a version of ‘When You Got a Good Friend’, as performed in the Japanese tour last Autumn, followed by a sublime rendition of ‘Little Queen of Spades’ from the forthcoming album, ‘Me & Mr Johnson’. An uptempo version of ‘Reconsider Baby’ concluded the powerful set.

Eric was sporting his brand new graffiti guitar. ‘Crashocaster III’ will feature as his main live instrument over the next few months prior to being auctioned in the summer to raise funds for Crossroads.

The concert also featured performances from, among others, Georgie Fame, Frank Mead, Mike Sanchez, Peter Green, Beverley Skeet, Bob Geldof, Paul Carrack, Sam Brown, The Zombies, Geno Washington and Gary Brooker.
