On Tuesday 18 March 2003, Eric Clapton delighted pupils and parents at a school in Sheffield, UK by hosting an evening of entertainment to raise money for the school and Crossroads Centre Antigua in the school’s hall. Demand for the 790 tickets was so high that parents and pupils names had to be drawn out of a hat to allow ticket allocation.
During the evening, Eric spoke extensively about his life, music and career and interspersed his talk with songs from his back catalogue, played unaccompanied on an acoustic guitar. The final half hour of this unique evening was given over to Eric answering questions from the audience. The evening ended with Eric recieving a standing ovation for his talk and performance.
Eric performed the following songs:
01. Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out
02. Ramblin’
03. Crossroads
04. Layla
05. Wonderful Tonight
06. Signe (partial)
07. Tears In Heaven
