Show Notes:

First of two gigs on this date. The band would then travel about two hours from Redruth, Cornwall to Barnstaple, Devon for their second gig of the night.

The gig took place at the Flamingo Ballroom on Station Road, Pool, near Redruth, Cornwall. It was a major regional venue, often billed interchangeably as the “Flamingo Club,” a name that may also have referred to a smaller on-site members’ bar within the complex.

The largest venue of its kind in the West of England, with a capacity of around 1,300, it operated from 1958 to 1979. The multi-purpose hall featured a sprung dance floor, large stage, and extensive parking, and was used for concerts, dances, boxing, wrestling, and other events. The building was demolished in 1983 and replaced by a supermarket.
