Show Notes:
Located at 1401 Clark Avenue, the arena as been known by the following names:
Municipal Auditorium (1934 – 1943)
Henry W. Kiel Auditorium (1943 – 1991)
The arena was built as part of the “Municipal Auditorium and Opera House” complex. Both venues were renamed in honor of St. Louis Mayor, Henry W. Kiel, in 1943. The Kiel Opera House was adjacent to the Kiel Auditorium. The stages of both were back-to-back. The auditorium was demolished in 1992 and the Enterprise Center (originally the Kiel Center, followed by “Savvis Center” and “Scottrade Center”) stands on its former site.
