I’m writing to provide a ticket stub and a corrected date for your EC Tour Archive entry on EC’s performance at Kings Island, Timberwolf Theater near Cincinnati, Ohio in July 1983. I’m an EC fan currently living in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. When I was a kid, however, I lived in Dayton, Ohio, which is approximately 50 miles north of Cincinnati. Kings Island, is an amusement park located 10-15 miles outside Cincinnati. I was 15 years old in 1983.
And here’s where I can offer a correction of the information about this concert the show has been listed as having occurred on July 12, 1983. As you can see from my attached ticket stub, EC actually played at Kings Island on July 13, 1983.
Because the concert was 29 years ago, I wish I could remember more about it than I do. Here, however, is what I remember for sure: It was a very hot day. The concert started in the early evening (8 p.m.?), when it was still light, but the sun went down soon after the show started. I specifically remember that Eric played “Let it Rain,” “Layla”, and of course, “Cocaine.”
