Eric Clapton Nominated For Two Grammy Awards

The Recording Academy (US) announced its nominations for the 47th Annual Grammy Awards on 7 December 2004. Eric earned two nominations. His most recent CD, "Me and Mr. Johnson" was nominated for "Best Traditional Blues Album". He was also nominated with Paul McCartney for "Something" for the "Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals" award. The track appeared on the CD, "Concert For George."

To date, Eric has won 17 Grammy Awards. The Grammys are peer-to-peer awards for artistic or technical achievement and overall excellence in the recording industry. They are not based on sales or chart position.

Long-time Clapton band member, Nathan East, was also nominated for an award. Nathan is also a member of the four piece jazz ensemble, Fourplay. The band’s album, "Journey" received a nomination for "Best Contemporary Jazz Album".

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 13 February 2005 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It will air live on CBS-TV from 8PM (EST / PST). For a complete list of Grammy nominations, visit grammy.com
