On 9 August 2004, Eric Clapton was inducted into Hollywood’s “RockWalk Museum” located within the Guitar Center in a private ceremony. The award was in recognition of his astonishing career, his achievements as a guitarist and entertainer, and his ongoing contribution to music. Clapton received a commemorative plaque and had his hands and signature imprinted in terrazzo marble.
His career highlights include stints with the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek & The Dominos, as well as a hugely successful solo career. Clapton is a sixteen-time Grammy Award winner and the only triple Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
RockWalk and the RockWalk Museum were established in 1989 to honor artists who made significant contributions to music.
