This concert was broadcast live on radio. After a month-long break, Eric and his band are back on the road. The second leg of the European Tour kicked off with this concert at Lucca Piazza Napoleone and would end on 31 July in Helsinki.

What a magical show! wonderful musicians… lots of guitars… nice atmosphere … Concert started with Robert Cray at 20:30 and Eric Clapton went on stage at 21:35. Eric played 17 songs… see tracklist in the right column on this page. Eric often smiled and it was beautiful to be there and sing with him and hear his so nice musicians and meet people of every age… The opening act was the great Robert Cray ,who played also on stage with SlowHand, so the band was composed by 8 musicians: two girls for the choir, two guitarists, a bassman, two keyboards, a drummer, plus Eric and Robert!! A great concert!

A spectacular start to a perfect weekend – Eric and his band – he is a genious and he is generous, giving space to many a talent, on guitar, namely a brilliant Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II. Robert Cray, who had performed so brilliantly opening the evening, was a further added attraction jamming with eric in ‘Old Love” and closing with a duet! Such enthusiasm from a crowd of veteran fans, myself included, but so great to see many young music lovers. Thank you Eric you were wonderful that night.

What a spectacular performance! Great sounds, great feelings, great music! After the beautiful set of Robert Cray the show began with a powerful version of Pretending and we immediately understood that we were going to listen to a great concert.
The sound of the band was simply astonishing with a great Steve Jordan hitting on his drums both with sweetness and wildness!
After the wonderful version of Got To Get Better In A Little While there was probably the most beautiful part of the concert, with a truly fantastic version of Old Love, played with Robert Cray. EC played a great solo, full of rage, sorrow, melancholy, and beauty…in a word: “BLUES”. We also loved very much Back Home and the sweet I Am Yours. Both Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II played a lot of solos, and we were surprised by the wonderful talent of Derek and by his magical slide. Everybody Oughta Make A Change and the marvelous Running On Faith made us appreciate the voices of Michelle John and Sharon White, while in Little Queen of Spades Eric (who played the first part of the song with a Gibson ES 335, and the last part with his Strat) and Chris Stainton showed us what does it means to play good!
In the last part of the show EC played his great success, with spectacular performances and we also listened to the beautiful Let It Rain (from his first solo album). Great encore with Crossroads and Robert Cray who singed and played with Eric in a fantastic jam.
