At the annual ceremony, Eric Clapton was inducted as a solo artist into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, making him the only triple inductee. He was inducted as a member of The Yardbirds in 1992 and Cream in 1993. This year’s ceremony was filmed for television broadcast on VH1 (US), with the first broadcast airing on 8 March 2000.
Eric also attended the annual ceremonies in 1994 to induct The Band, in 1999 to perform in honour of Curtis Mayfield’s induction, and in 2005 to induct George "Buddy" Guy.
